Not to be missed is the incredible collection of ancient and modern artifacts collected in the National Palace Museum over 5000 years of Chinese civilization, located east of the Grand Hotel and on the north side of Taipei. It's better to spend your time freely in the museum instead of following a tour group. Therefore, it's highly recommended to take a taxi from the hotel to the museum (about 100 NTD) and stay there as long as you like. The recently renovated interior with modern sight and sound exhibition is a real treat.
